More politicians singing for their election suppers? Pull dem up, selecta! #Elections2020Jamaica

I really don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with the lyrics that will drop during the election campaign, but here are a few that have come out ahead of nomination day, next week. We’ll each find some lyrics we like, even if we say we don’t like the candidates or their politics. One line hit me for its sheer Jamaicanness of simple rhyme that has a good image behind it: “Bunting straight, like me pants dem”.

I like the vibe coming off this tune from ‘Nesta’, which seems to capture him, for its seeming seriousness amidst fun. Finally, one of Senti’s representatives is pure ‘young bway’:

I guess sometime during the campaign we may get to hear something about policies and so forth, as opposed to when the new ‘chune’ guh drop. 🙂
