All too often I’m struck by a horrible sense that Jamaica loves slipping into darkness. I’d almost say slipping back to the Dark Ages, but as we were not a nation back then it’s a bit of hyperbole that I’ll avoid.
Today, I read a headline about how some Christians were allegedly incensed that a cleric embraced gay people literally and figuratively. I cannot begin to fathom what kind of religious notions of caring allows its adherents to then distinguish about which humans to care. It’s just utter nonsense. But, because people can gain influence over others by discriminating against some, the polarization ploy is both obvious and dispicable. That some cannot see human rights including gay rights is just mind boggling to me.
