The Sunday Gleaner published a poll today, which showed that the PM, Portia Simpson-Miller, is extremely unpopular and most people by a huge margin believe she’s taking the country in the wrong direction. Most people also would prefer Opposition leader, Andrew Holness as PM.
However, the paper also reported at senior officials in both main parties feel their current leaders are ‘clueless and inept’
That does not add up to a resounding call by high-ranking political officials for the PM to be replaced by the current leader of the Opposition.
So, some simple questions.
Who should be the next national leader?
Is the poll result surprising news to either party? If so, what do their soundings show?
If the results are not surprising, what is each party doing with the positive or negative view that prevails?
