The shutdown of the US Federal government ended. Standard & Poor’s estimated that the shutdown, which ended after 16 days, took US$24 billion out of the U.S. economy, and reduced projected fourth-quarter GDP growth from 3 percent to 2.4 percent. For what it’s worth, the cost and lower growth are also passed on to many other countries, which depend on US spending and growth to help boost their own economic activities.


Consumer and business confidence in Jamaica hit near all-time lows in the 3rd quarter, according to recent survey data: no job prospects; rising prices; falling exchange rate. Christmas is not yet, here!
